A whole lotta lovely

I've had a fabulous weekend, full of loveliness, though not so full of lattes!

On Friday, I caught a train down to London. I had a 30 minute wait at Wolverhampton and ventured to their new bus station in search of my morning caffeine hit. I found a Costa Express machine in a WHSmith. This may not be a novelty to some, but it was for me.

I love getting a train, I had time to read more of my book. I watched a plane land at Birmingham and wished I could have taken a picture because the light on Friday morning was magical.

Once I arrived in London, I met my friend and we headed to Stanfords. Stanfords is an amazing travel bookshop, we looked at books for our forthcoming trips to Belgium and New York. We spent ages in there.

We then went to Kensington to the Whole Foods, an american supermarket that has a few stores over here. We bought ourselves some yummy food and also got cocktails in a can from M&S before heading to Hyde Park in the sunshine.

Our main purpose for visiting London was going to Buckingham Palace, which was not disappointing. We saw Kate's wedding dress, the cake, her earrings. It was really good and I'm so glad we went. I have always wanted to go and Kate's dress just made it more appealing.

On Saturday we went to the National Wedding Show at Earl's Court. My sister is getting married next year, so together with our mum and her other bridesmaid we wandered around this huge exhibtion of all things wedding. This was followed by lunch near St Pancras station. I have never seen this building before, it is absolutely beautiful. And also my departure for our Belguim trip.

After all this excitement, I spent Sunday at home doing nothing. Which was just as lovely.

Lunch time cat nap

I tried making my own iced latte at home today. It was pants. I don't know how they do it in Starbucks and Costa. That was not so lovely.

What was lovely today...despite my previous post about my excitement for winter...was coming home at lunch time, sitting in the sun and reading more of my book. I may have even had a ten minute nap. It was wonderful.

Oooh thinking of my previous post; I dreamt about my boots last night. I think it's love!

Monday's Loveliness

So much for good intentions. On Monday I had a very late lunch, not taking my break until mid-afternoon and I took myself off to Costa.

My latte was a medium skinny latte and my loveliness was getting half an hour with my book.

My book, all about New York, is written in 1984. Some of it shows, but some of it is still true to the post 911 New York I have visited. I'm really enjoying it.
